Depression Treatment

Depression TreatmentLiving with depression isn’t easy. It can leave you feeling hopeless, cause you to lose interest in activities you once enjoyed, affect your sleep, and make you irritable.

Depression may run in your family or it may be triggered by a stressful situation, loss of a close friend or family member, or trauma. Whatever causes your depression, you should know that it is treatable.

Clearview Women’s Center provides depression treatment that allows you to better manage your symptoms and successfully recover from the disorder. We provide highly individualized professional treatment in a six-bed home, as well as a day treatment center, so that you get the one-one-one attention and support you need.

How We Treat Depression at Clearview

Nobody experiences the symptoms of depression in the same way. People experience different levels of severity, frequency, and duration. Our premier depression treatment center can treat your depression, no matter how severe it may be.

Clearview Women’s Center provides evidence-based treatment that has proven to be effective in treating the symptoms of depression. Through a combination of individual and group therapy, in addition to antidepressant medication if necessary, you will address your disorder. Treatment at Clearview includes the following:

  • Three or more individual therapy sessions per week with Ph.D. and master’s-level therapists trained in the treatment of depression.
  • Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help you change your negative thoughts and beliefs.
  • Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) to help you change the habitual withdrawal and passivity of depression.
  • Individual DBT sessions.
  • DBT skills groups, such as mindfulness meditation, emotion regulation, distress tolerance, and interpersonal effectiveness.
  • DBT phone coaching.
  • Skills application groups to generalize your new DBT skills to real-life situations.
  • Art therapy to help you identify thoughts and feeling and utilize the creative process therapeutically.

Upon admission to our residential or day treatment program, you will receive a thorough psychiatric evaluation to determine if antidepressants or other medications are necessary. Our psychiatrist will meet with you regularly to evaluate your response to medication and make adjustments as needed. You will also receive a comprehensive psychosocial assessment and treatment plan that will help alleviate your symptoms of depression.

Our holistic approach to depression treatment includes yoga, exercise, and healthy diet and nutrition to treat the body as well as the mind. Therapeutic massage and acupuncture are also available. Our unique location 1 mile from the Pacific Ocean allows you to take advantage of the Los Angeles weather by going on calming walks at the beach and participating in other outdoor recreational activities.

Depression often co-occurs with substance abuse, anxiety disorders, and personality disorders, including Borderline Personality Disorder. Our experienced team can treat these co-occurring disorders at the same time for a more comprehensive recovery.
